U.S. Virgin Islands Visa FAQs

When is the best time to apply for my U.S. Virgin Islands visa?
The best time to apply for your U.S. Virgin Islands visa is 1-2 months before your travel date. However, if you are running short on time, we may be able to process your visa on a faster service at the Embassy’s discretion.

Do I have to send you my passport to get a U.S. Virgin Islands visa? Is it safe to send a passport?
Yes. You will need to send your actual passport, not a copy of it. The U.S. Virgin Islands visa is stamped on your passport and will become one of your passport pages. Visa request cannot be processed without your original passport. Because of the importance of your passport, we strongly suggest that you send your application by a secure method, such as a guaranteed postal service or courier.

Sample of the Business Travel Requirements for an U.S. Virgin Islands Visa for Singapore Citizens

  1. Appointment System

The US Consulate operates an appointment system for the submission of non-immigrant visa applications. VisaCentral will advise in the initial consultation the current appointment wait times at the Consulate. The processing time is the time taken for the visa to be received after the scheduled appointment.

  2. Document Requirements

Upon placing your order VisaCentral will send you details for the following document requirements:

    • Passport
    • Digital Photograph
    • Application form
    • Appointment booking confirmation
    • Letter of Invitation
    • Business Introduction Letter
    • Proof of Financial Means
    • Proof of Residency

  3. Previous Convictions

Applicants who have ever been arrested, cautioned or convicted of a previous offence, must declare this information on their visa application. This will require ‘administrative processing’ by the US Embassy, and will extend the consular processing time of up to 60 days from the date of the visa interview. As timing is based on individual circumstances of each case, the US Embassy cannot guarantee visa issuance or visa processing times in advance of the interview. If you have a criminal conviction, we recommend that you apply well in advance of your intended travel date.

A Police Certificate or Court records pertaining to the arrest or conviction must be taken to the appointment, this applies even if the sentence is considered spent.

  4. Additional Administrative Processing

Some applications may be subjected to additional administrative processing at the US Consulate. In these cases VisaCentral cannot guarantee the exact issuing time of your visa.
