Biometric Data Collection

The Consulate of India requires the collection of biometric details which must be done at the Indian Visa Application Centre.

Sample of the Business Travel Requirements for an India Visa for Singapore Citizens

  1. Passport

    The applicant's actual passport. The passport must:

    • Be valid at least 6 months beyond entry date into India
    • Be Machine Readable
    • Have at least two blank facing Visa pages

    A clear copy of the information page(s) from the applicant's passport

  2. Photograph(s)

    You must provide a photograph. Upload your photo and we will print it to the exact specifications required for this visa. Follow http://visacentral.sg/photo-service.php to upload your photo.

     

     

    Alternatively, you may provide one colour, passport-type photograph that meets the following strict criteria: be taken within the last six months against an all-white background and printed on high-quality photo paper; be 45 mm by 35 mm; provide the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression. You may wear neither eyeglasses nor headwear except for religious purposes. Your photo should be glued to the designated section of the visa application form (in the absence of a designated area, affix to the top right or top left corner).

  3. Business Introduction Letter

    You are required to provide an original Business Introduction Letter from your Singapore-based company. Be certain your letter meets the specific requirements of the consulate by using our Digital Business Introduction Letter. Visit http://visacentral.sg/bcl-order to get started.

    Alternatively, please use the sample Business Introduction Letter provided at http://visacentral.sg/forms?formname=Business-Introduction-Letter-Sample.pdf using the exact language and format provided in order to prevent a rejection and possible delays with your visa request.

  4. Letter of Invitation

    A letter of invitation from the company to be visited in India. A copy is acceptable. This letter must:

    • Be addressed to the Indian High Commission
    • Be on company letterhead paper
    • Include the company stamp
    • Include the name of the applicant
    • Specify the purpose of journey
    • Specify the requested number of entries and the length of visa required
    • Be signed by the Legal Representative of the inviting company or inviting individual

     

  5. VisaCentral - Order Confirmation

    Provide the VisaCentral Order Form included in this kit.

  6. Visa Application Form

    Please visit https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/ and complete the visa application form online. After doing so, all applicants must print the application, sign it and submit it to VisaCentral together with the other documents. It is imperative that the visa application form is completed as per the Indian High Commission's guidelines.

    Please note: Failure to complete the online visa application form correctly will result in a longer processing time.

  7. Business Card

    Applicants must provide their business card (i.e. name card).

    Applicants who are unable to produce a business card are recommended to include a statement as to why they are unable to provide it in their Singapore company's letter. However, it will be at the discretion of the Embassy to accept the application.

  8. Additional Required Documents

    You must submit a copy (front and back) of your Singapore Pink IC.

  9. Copy of Previous Visa

    Applicants who have visited India previously and answer "Yes" regarding previous visas on the Indian online form must supply a copy of their previous visa if it is not in their current passport.

  10. Two Year Multiple Entry Applicants

    The issuance of a two year multiple entry business visa is subject to approval by the High Commission of India. In the event that the High Commission does not approve a two year validity, the visa fee is non-refundable. Applicants must:

    • Provide a copy of the previous multiple entry one year visa issued in Singapore within the last 3 years
    • Ensure that all documents (visa application form, business introduction letter and invitation letter) request the issuance of a two year multiple entry business visa.

  11. Applicants holding a Valid Visa in an Old Passport

    Travellers may only enter India on valid visas in current, valid passports.  While a visa in an old passport may still have validity remaining, a new visa is required in the new passport.

    If the traveller has a valid visa in an old passport and would like to apply for a new visa in the current passport, the valid visa in the old passport must be cancelled before a new visa can be issued.

    Applicants must include both the previous and current passport during submission of the application. The High Commission of India will proceed to cancel the valid visa in the previous passport and issue a new visa in the current passport. If the old passport with the valid visa is not included during submission of the application and requested later, this will delay the issuance of the new visa indefinitely.

  12. Applicants born in Pakistan, China, Iran, Bangladesh or Nigeria

    Visa approval for applicants from the following countries of origin will be referred to officials in India - Pakistan, China, Iran, Bangladesh or Nigeria.

    Processing time may be extended without specific dates provided by the High Commission, a flight itinerary must be provided once visa has been approved and a single entry only visa may be granted. It is not recommended to purchase non-changeable flights for these applicants.

  13. Applicants with Media Occupations

    All applications working in any media related companies (regardless of position held) and or where details in Section G of the visa form indicates that the applicant is a professional Journalist, Columnist, Cartoonist, Editor, Photographer, Film producer or director (other than of commercial films), Representative of a radio or TV organization, Travel Writer/Travel Promotion photographer or any professional journalist/owner working for an association or company engaged in production or broadcast of audio visual news of current affairs programmes through the print, electronic or any other electronic form, the applicant must be directed to the High Commission India prior to submitting their visa.

    Please note: All applicants must proceed to the HCI directly to obtain pre-approval for all applicants working in media/media related firms (regardless of their role within the company).  You may contact or email the High Commission of India (Press/Information/Culture) directly at the numbers provided below.

    Applicants have to liaise directly with HCI to get pre-approval to process the visa application

    As the High Commission of India will require applications to obtain approval directly, VisaCentral and BLS International (HCI's authorized agent) can only assist with processing the application after the HCI officer has written the approval on the visa application form.
     

  14. Biometric Exceptions

    Biometrics are not required for children under the age of 12, adults over 70 years.

  15. Traveller Registration Service (Highly Recommended)

    VisaCentral recommends that Singapore citizens register with the Traveller Registration Service. VisaCentral will register your overseas trip(s) with the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Registering your trip details enables the Singapore Missions overseas to contact and locate you in the event of an emergency or crisis, and provide you with consular assistance where deemed necessary.
